We visited the city of DeLat in the central highlands of Vietnam. During the time of “French Indochina” the French built villas here to escape the heat of the coastal summers. The climate is mild and the primary industry is agriculture. The Dutch came and taught the Vietnamese to build greenhouses which now cover the hillsides – full of tulips, and every imaginable flower as well as vegetables which are sent by truckloads throughout Asia.

Yes ! We rode an elephant!!   Even more amazing – we toured the countryside on the back of motorcycles. The “Easy Riders” took us on a great tour answering questions about the city and the people.ImageFlowers of DaLatImageSpelling error?   No Train SationImageThese three!ImageArtist of silk embroidery in historical DaLat village city street from our hotelImageview from our window   Dreams Hotel, DaLatImageColins friends mother made us dinner one night at her restaurantImageboats to island in Paradise LakeImagesmart elephant
